Summer Reading List.
1. Harry Potter (1-7) J.K. Rowling - When I was in year 5, I read page 1 of the 1st book, 1,000 times, but I wasn’t in it, that was 9yrs ago, and in that time, the whole school read the books, and my family, even new friends I have met have read them, I have never had an interest in the books, although I do admitting to waiting till midnight for mum to come home when then final book was realesed, It took me 2 days to read, but I wanted to know how it ended, I have always been more interested in the films, but it’s come to the point where im fed up of everyone telling me the books are better, and the film missed loads out, so my time is up. And im on chapter 5 of The Philosopher’s stone.
2. Catch 22/Joseph Heller - The amount of films that mention catch 22, and the use of the saying these days, is indeed popular, it’s about time I understood the story behind the catchphrase.
3. East of Eden/John Steinbeck - It’s no secret that I fell in love with ‘Off mice and men’ during the GCSE period at high school, and hearing a review of this in college, always interested me, John steinbeck has an abiltity, to write such amazing characters, so I wonder who he can introduce me to next.
4. Factotum/Charles Bukowski - Bukowski has always been a name I’d heard of, quotes from his books or poems, have always been floating around and many of them are inked on my bedroom walls, but I am as yet to read any of his novels. I guess this is a good palce to start as any.
5. Lorna Doone/R.D.Blackmore - I was given this last summer to borrow, knowing my love of reading my best friends nan, told me of her favourite book, Lorna Doone, She lent it me to read before I went to off to university, but with the preperations and packing I never got round to reading it, this summer I shall.
6. Ticket to ride/Dennis Potter - For my GCSE Drama, we had to choose a scene from The Play ‘Blue remebered hills’ Haven chosen our scene, I got so into the story I took the book home and read it, enchanting, we even got to watch the film adaptation once we had done our final pieces. I have always wanted to read more of Potter’s work, and being from The Forest of Dean, and being influenced by his environment, It’ll be nice to read more of his work, which was inspired by the peaceful tranquility of sucha beautiful place.
7. Pulp/Charles Bukowski - As before, But I just couldn’t help myself in the book store and bought to books, ‘Pulp’ and ‘Foctotum’ synopsis on the back, appealed to me the most.
8. Neon Angel/Cherie Currie - After Just watching ‘The runaways’ adaptation, I was amazed by the depth this story carried, I of course like everyone else was only made aware of them, through this film, and through my search of Kristen Stewart on IMDB. Thankfully she seem’s to have raised great knowledge to teenage girls, about this band. The film shocked me, from beginning to end, without any knowledge of Joan, Cherie or of course The Runaways, I was unaware of anything they had done, although shocked as well, that many classic songs were written and recorded by them, now faces to memorable songs, the film was inspiring and my guess is the book is just as inspiring.
9. Vanishing Acts/Jodi Picoult - During a very long summer last year, I was bookless, The sister was moaning and pregnant on the way back from some place i don’t remember, and I wanted a book, unfortunatley for her, I needed to de-tour to ASDA, while there I picked up the first book I saw, ‘Jodi Picoult’s - Songs of the Humpback Whale’ unknown to me was I sat down and read that book in a day, this book could of been awful they way I just rushed it of the shelf it wasn’t it was brilliant, so on a littel trp to Abergavenny, I popped into the book store and headed straight for her section, I read the front cover and knew i had to have it, however mum told me to wait and read books I already had, unluckily a few days later I got in my car, and drove to Aber myslef, I picked up the book, Bought it and came straight home, It still lies vacant on my book shelf.
10. Apathy for the Devil/Nick Kent - It’s about time I read another Biography, so it’s a good job this is the second on my list, I read a review for this in a magazine, I have never heard or never claim o have heard of Nick Kent’s name or what he did, but the short synopsis, sounded interesting, and it’s nice to read about influential people, who you have know knowledge of, it’s the best way.
11. Jane Eyre/Charlotte Bronte - After finally reading her sister’s ‘Emily Bronte’s’ famous ‘Wuthering Hieghts’ only last year, I decided to pick up, this just as famous ‘Jane Eyre’ many people I have spoken to have read it, and say it’s a great read, so we’ll see.
12. The Host/Stephenie Meyer - After the Twilight movie was thrusted in my face, and I was forced to watch this movie that I knew nothing about, I became enchanted by it, like everyone else, Although being honest I was extremely shocked when Bella reaveled that Edward was a Vampire. (Like I said I knew nothing abotu the movie) or in fact books, it was there that I decided to read them, After being pulled in by the unravelling story of vampire, Human and wolf, and it’s end. My attention was drawn to the author’s new novel ‘The host’ after ‘Twilight’ being such an EPIC story, I decided why not, this author seem’s to have some imagination, I wonder what characters and places will pull us in this time. Unfortunatley, I read the first chapter and got distracted, Im guessing it’s one of them you gotta keep reading till and IT WILL GRAB YOU books, Persitance Ruth, It’ll pay off.
Anyways there’s 18 books for now, Im off. Cya’

Not much has happened in the last week, been busy attempting assignments and failing miserably 2bh. Anyway here are a few snaps, from the week.
chloe attempted to wash her hair in my shower... harder than it sounds.
Later on... I tried to eat her.
We Party'd, must admit it was fun being pretty sober, and watch the others suffer the next day
with tales from their drunken antics. (Y)
And I found out that 'Shadow Ruth' has a very small head,
See middle person (vv)
